Atopic dermatitis is a common and long lasting skin disorder which affects a huge number of people around the world. This skin disease is also known as eczema, dermatitis or atopy. In case of infants; parents should give the child brief lukewarm baths, apply lubricants immediately after the bath, cut and keep the fingernails short and clean at all times, use cotton fabrics and clothing, use medications which can reduce the itchiness at night and keep the child in a cool and dry climate or temperature.
